Information about the Wheel

The Roulette wheel consists of a wooden cylinder, which is spun by the dealer / croupier, and the wheel is divided into sections, which are numbered from 0 to 36. In American Roulette there is an additional section on the wheel numbered double zero '00'.

The wheel is numbered with consecutive numbers placed opposite each other and each number is coloured either black or red, with zeros (0s) being coloured in green.

About the Wheel: Spinning and Rolling Ball

Once the betting on the roulette table begins to slow down and the players have nearly finished placing their bets, the croupier spins the ball around the wooden cylinder. The first spin of the day on the table starts from the current day of the month, and from then onwards, all subsequent spins start from the previous winning number.

When the roulette table is particularly busy, the croupier often chooses to make a long spin, and on smaller, quieter games, a much shorter spin of the ball is often made.

Roulette players are able to request how the ball should be spun, i.e. long or short, and in the case that some players disagree and would like the bull spun differently, the player with the highest stake and betting usually takes priority.

Most croupiers choose to alternate between spinning the ball in a clockwise and anti-clockwise direction. The wheel is always spun in the opposite direction of the ball.

About the Wheel: 'No Spin'

A 'no spin' may be announced in the instance that the ball makes less than three complete spins of the wooden roulette cylinder, or if the croupier makes an unexpected mistake when spinning the ball and roulette wheel. 'No spins' are always clearly announced by the croupier, and even if the ball has landed in the number slot on the wheel, this result is void and the ball is spun again.

About the Wheel: 'No More Bets'

When it becomes clear that the ball is beginning to slow down and will shortly drop into the casino's roulette wheel, the croupier clearly announces 'no more bets'. Players must immediately stop betting once the croupier has announced 'no more bets' and any bets placed after this may not be accepted.
